Jim Getting, Ph.D., CHST
Jim Getting has directed the safety services for Niles since 2001.
Dr. Getting has a diverse background in organizational training,
behavior analysis, and construction.
Dr. Getting is a graduate of Western Michigan University and Auburn
University. Prior to joining Niles, Dr. Getting worked for a variety
of safety departments, including a New England workers compensation
company during which he conducted research demonstrating the success
of the largest multi-organization safety incentive program conducted.
Under the management of Dr. Getting, positive feedback and monetary
reinforcement was shown to result in a savings of four dollars for
every one dollar invested in the program.
Dr. Getting stresses the tenets of Behavioral Safety programs.
This includes management involvement, job analysis and planning,
job design, training, observation and feedback, measurement, and
positive reinforcement. His approach is a positive and proactive
strategy leading to a organizational culture change and measurable
results.
